How about some non David Beckham news. Aston Villa have signed England winger Stewart Downing for £12 million on a four-year deal from Middlesbrough.The 24-year-old agreed personal terms and passed a medical at Villa Park on Thursday and becomes manager Martin O'Neill's first signing of the summer. Looks like the Villans picked up a quality winger, if he can remain fit. Don't know if this will be the key ingredient for AV to push them further in the tables, but it's a great start. I've always liked this kid and definitely always thought he needed to get away from Middlesbrough.
