We told you last week that these shoes would be dropping today. I also think that Zidane could still play...MLS maybe?

My New Boots?

You guys know what I'm currently rocking for my games from a post a few months ago. Well, yesterday Beans from The Original Winger stopped by the Nike Offices in LA and took a pic of my next boot (hopefully). They're set to drop in November, so I'm thinking they'll make a good Christmas present, plus the Don't Tread On Me design is fitting for today's U.S. game.

LA Aztecs 35th Anniversary T-Shirt

An email from the boys at Bumpy Pitch just landed in my inbox a few minutes ago. They just dropped a new LA Aztecs shirt that is pretty sweet. Here's the email:

It was 1974. Steve Miller Band releases The Joker, The Godfather II hits movie theatres, and the LA Aztecs had just joined the North American Soccer League. With a small fan following, a home stadium at East LA College and that classic logo, the LA Aztecs did one of the most difficult things to do in professional sports - win a championship in your inaugural season.

The LA Aztecs might have only been around a short amount of time (1974-81), but they undoubtedly left their mark on the history of soccer in the United States. With a celebrity co-owner in Elton John, and superstars such as George Best and Johan Cruyff, it would be natural to think that the LA Aztecs would have enjoyed a handful of championship wins. In fact, that championship in 1974 was the lone year that they were crowned kings of the NASL.

This Bumpy Pitch shirt pays tribute to the only championship the LA Aztecs won 35 years ago.

Back of the shirt.

The MLS All Star Game (Everton's away and Fredy's Boots)

Don't forget to watch tonight's MLS All Star game at 9:30 ET/6:30 PT on ESPN2/ESPN360 from Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy Utah. The MLS All Stars will be facing off against U.S. goalkeeper Tim Howard and the rest of his Everton squad. A few MLS players will be wearing their own personalized boots for the occasion, including the shoe shown below belonging to a certain Fredy Montero. You can now personalize your own boots at Mi Adidas. I could see White Kix breaking the bank for Stuart Holden's new kicks. Nike has been doing this for years so it's nice to see Adidas catching up

I'm also interested in seeing if Everton wears their new away kits. They probably won't be, but now is as good as time as any to drop these pics I've been sitting on of the clubs new softer away image. Seriously? I can imagine wearing pink while defending your home grounds... but wearing pink away trying to steal points? I can hear the taunts now.

We want to offer soccer fans and scarf collectors around the world a site where they can get unique and traditional scarf designs from all of the premium brands including Adidas, Nike and Ruffneck
Our plan is to also offer consumers an interactive opportunity to submit ideas for scarf designs they would like to see in the shop.
Our mission since the beginning has been to provide soccer fans with scarves they can wear and raise with the pride and passion they display in supporting their favorite team
Not only will Scarf Brigade carry the scarves of the top soccer clubs from around the world, but they will also offer a storefront for youth clubs, high schools, colleges and supporters groups that are interested in selling their custom scarves on the site. The purpose is to allow these organizations a chance to increase the effectiveness of fundraisers, improve merchandise sales and promote their brand.
