Soccer Sunday!
I'm getting ready to settle in for a full day of the MLS Playoffs. The Sounders and Dynamo kick off in 10 minutes and then I'll be watching the SuperClasico of the year to finish things off. Here are a couple of notes for today:
Freddie Ljungberg thinks the Houston pitch is an, "absolute disgrace!"
Houston COO, Chris Canetti, wants to remind the American soccer community that the Dynamo get great support.
The other white guy from England is also enjoying his time in the U.S.
Former USL Sounder, Maykel Galindo, is feeling good and could be the guy to carry Chivas USA past the Galaxy. Hey! I used to play with that guy.

RSL vs Rapids Highlights
The Rocky Mountain Cup never disappoints.
My boy Andy Williams with two assists and Robbie Findley with the brace. RSL carved up the Colorado defense and left Preston Burpo hanging a few times. Oh yeah, I used to play with that guy, he's a good goalkeeper...although these highlights might lead you to think otherwise.

Go Joe!
Our boy Joseph Supang just posted on his Facebook page that he was recently selected for the Botswana National Team. The leading scorer in Botswana history, Dipsy Selowane, used to play in MLS so we'll see where this takes Joe. We'll give you more details on his journey, but for now you can learn a lot about the guy in the first video. Best wishes, Joe!

You Can Save A Life
Last Tuesday the Sounders held a bone marrow drive at the urging of Tyrone Marshall. The effort was to support RSL and Jamaican international, Andy Williams and his wife Marcia. She has been battling leukemia and this was Seattle's chance to help find a bone marrow donor for her. The first stop was checking in and getting paperwork.
Station 2 was filling out a lot of paperwork since you are on the donor list until you're 60 years old.

After swabbing the inside of your mouth with some really long Q-tips, you moved on to station 4...autographs with the Sounders. The first hour and a half had Marshall, Le Toux, Vagenas, Graham and Jaqua.
Taylor Graham told me that halfway through the event new players were coming. So naturally I stuck around and came back at the midway point. On my way back in I ran into Steve Zakuani outside. We briefly chatted and went on in.
Since I had already completed the donor process I was able to head straight to the autograph table. I want to give a shout out to Marshall and Le Toux for sticking around the whole time. James Riley signing my scarf.
As Zach Scott signed my scarf, I told him about our buddy, Ty, and his, "I used to play with that guy. He's a good player" comments. We had a good laugh about it and we both realized that we had played against each other in a semi-pro indoor league.

This goes out to my buddy Ty. He may have mentioned the fact the he's played indoor with Zach Scott from Sounders FC. Ty's mentioned to me that Zach's a good player. So here is Zach scoring the winning PK against the Kansas City Wizards for the USL Sounders in the 2008 US Open Cup.
