Ronaldo Wins the Puskas

I know what you're thinking. You're thinking, "What is a Puskas? And should I be offended?" Well, the answer is "no." The Goal of the Year Award is named after the late Ferenc Puskas and the first annual FIFA Puskas Award went to Cristiano Ronaldo for his long range bomb against FC Porto in the Champions League.

Here are all the goals nominated.

Who do you think should have won? Let us know in the comments.

  1. I thought the Eliran Atar goal was the best.

  2. I like Luis Angel Landin's goal. How sick would that have been for an MLS player to win the FIFA Goal of the Year?

  3. They would never give a FIFA award to an MLS player. Ronaldo won it because that goal put them through to the UEFA final.

I understand that the importance of the goal and the match were both factors in who won. My point is that it just would have been cool to have an MLS player win. Real madrid is taking credit for Ronaldo's win by saying he is the first Real Madrid player to win the award, even though CR7 was playing for ManU at the time. I think that Atar's and Landin's goals were both cooler than Ronaldo's, but the significance and the pure strike of his goal won out in the end.

You're an idiot. Adebayor is with Citeh and how can you cheer for him after his goal against us. He ran to our section and jeered us. He's a bastard and I hope he's form continues to fall and we never see him in the premiership again. His stamp on RVP was villanous! You are no Gunner, you are an idiot. No one person is bigger than the club and when they leave out of spite and hate our backs are turned on them. I am a Gunner for life, I back the club. As far as the award, which is what this topic is really about, I think they got it right. Although, I think it is ashame that Real Madrid is taking credit. I guess they think they are so rich they can buy history as well. Gunner4lyfe is a (as the American's like to say) a d bag.
